Intermediate Class List

Overview

This listing of steps is mainly to remind students what they have learned. If you have any questions about what is listed, ask us when you see us out dancing. It is much easier to show what we mean than to try to explain it in writing. We are constantly evaluating how we dance and teach, so these classes are different each time around, but the steps listed below encompass what we will cover.

The initial format is just a copying of my notes for myself. If I get a lot of questions about certain items, I will try to make it more clear, otherwise, I will rewrite as I get around to it.

The Intermediate classes may be taken in any order. Each class builds repertoire while focusing on technique and partnering skills and requires a strong foundation in the basics. Each class includes variations of the swingout (patterns and/or footwork), tuck turn, cross-hand leads and Charleston. These classes are distinct, and we recommend taking each Intermediate class (A, B, C, D, and E) before proceeding to more advanced Lindy classes. Although many of our special topics classes don’t require the intermediate classes, the skills learned in the intermediate classes help.
