About ChileSwing

ChileSwing is a continuation and expansion of the classes that have been taught at the Avalon since the late 1990s. With Leslie (the owner of the Avalon) moving more to the realm of yoga, we decided it would be best to have a new name and refocus ourselves.

While we are primarily promoting our classes and Thursday night dance, we also want to raise awareness about the other venues at which we dance. We just want to have more dancers at all of the dances we attend. It is impossible for us to ask every person to dance every night, so if you see us out, please don't hesitate to ask us to dance.

He has taught workshops in venues such as the American Lindy Hop Championships, the Virginia State Open and as a regular guest instructor for the Washington Swing Dance Committee. In 2003 Chiles took 1st place at the Virginia State Open for the Open Jack & Jill Lindy Hop Fast. He is still out dancing 5-6 nights a week, so make sure you find him for a dance!

Kristen LeChevet

Kristen has been a Lindy Hopper since 2003. It didn't take much convincing to get her out dancing 5 nights a week. Kristen joined the FlyCats performance team in 2004.

Between dances she works as a high school chemistry teacher.
